Andrew Brainard (Position #5) was born in Portland, Oregon, and adopted by his grandparents before moving to Coos Bay at just six weeks old. Except for four years living in Florence, he has proudly called the Coos Bay–North Bend area home his entire life.
Andrew has dedicated much of his career to serving his community. He worked for nearly two decades for the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians, of which he is also a tribal member. He currently serves as a Casino Host for Three Rivers Casino Resort & Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay, where he focuses on guest relations, community partnerships, tourism engagement, and representing the organization at local and regional events.
His professional background also includes experience in community outreach and local media, including work with Bicoastal Media and as an intern at K-DOCK Radio.
Commissioner Brainard is no stranger to volunteerism and civic leadership. He has served on the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Board and Coos Elderly Services Board, and he currently assists with North Bend Main Street and the Salvation Army.
He now serves on the Coos County Airport District Board, where his priorities include developing the Airport Heights-area park, improving airport property signage, strengthening economic development partnerships, and pursuing expanded commercial air service — particularly enhanced northbound connections to better serve residents, businesses, and tourism throughout the region.
